The RITMA Association unites professional practitioners of several alternative medicine disciplines throughout the province of Quebec.

Our goal is to offer a dynamic association, created and led by experienced and militant therapists/practitioners, to professionals and accredited graduates in the field of alternative medicine.

Our association provides for six discipline categories :
Massage Therapists, Kinesitherapists, Orthotherapists, Naturopaths, Naturotherapists and Osteopaths. Should you be accredited in 2 or more of these disciplines, RITMA also offers a VIP membership at competitive rates.

Each and every RITMA member must acknowledge and adhere to the association’s code of deontology. The RITMA association insures this with its own disciplinary committee. In keeping with these high standards, RITMA also requires that all its members obtain a Professional Errors and Omissions insurance coverage.

RITMA members are widely recognized by the majority of existing insurance companies. Consequently, our members may issue receipts to their clients, who in turn may claim the services rendered and obtain a refund from their individual group insurance plans.

Additionally, the RITMA Association is among the very few professional alternative medicine associations to offer comprehensive group insurance to all its members.

Since, 1979, the mission of the Fédération québécoise des massothérapeutes consists of qualifying and supporting massage therapists in their professional practice as well as informing and protecting the public.

Choosing one of the 5 500 certified massage therapists means knowing that he or she has received quality training from an FQM-accredited school. To become a member of the FQM and obtain the title of certified massage therapist, graduates are required to pass a competency test given by the FQM. As well, all certified massage therapists are bound by a code of ethics and a professional inspection regulation and accountable to a syndic and a disciplinary committee.
