5 - Are spa treatments offered by Certified Spa Members appropriate for people with physical disabilities? |
| |
 |
|
Absolutely. Spa treatments are for everyone, regardless of physical disability. As for any other client, disabled clients must complete a mandatory health assessment prior to any treatment program. Depending on the result of this health assessment and the nature of the disability, the therapist will be able to determine which treatments are more appropriate and if any health precautions apply. If necessary, the treatment may also be slightly modified to insure the client’s comfort.
We strongly advise you to communicate directly with your Relais Santé spa. By discussing this matter with a therapist, you will find out which treatment will be suit your needs.

8 - Do I have to take my clothes off when receiving a spa treatment? |
| |
 |
|
No. Our professionals and therapists respect their client’s intimacy. If, for a given treatment, undergarments are not necessary, the body will be wrapped with large sheets or towels. During the entire treatment, the only body part uncovered by sheets or towels will be the one your therapist is working on. You will never be asked, in any occasion or situation, to totally disrobe. However, if you prefer, undergarments may be worn at all times.
On the other hand, many treatments allow the client to keep his/her clothes on. Balneotherapy, for example, can be performed with a swimsuit on while many types of massage, such as Shiatsu, Amma, acupression or Reiki are performed fully clothed.
If this is a concern for you, feel free to require more information when making your appointment.

| |

10 - Are treatments and care offered by Member Spas covered by my private health insurance? |
| |
 |
|
Most private insurance companies partially or fully cover massages performed by a certified massage therapist. Each certified massage therapist has his/her own unique registration number, which your insurance company will require. In order for you to claim your treatment, this registration number must appear on your receipt.
All Member Spas’ massage therapists are Certified Massage Therapists, and are able to provide you with a receipt upon request. Make sure to ask your insurance company if your policy requires a medical prescription for the massage treatment in order to be reimbursed and, if so, how much of the treatment cost will be reimbursed.
If this matter is important to you, please contact your Relais santé® spa when making your next appointment. Please take note that other treatments such as balneotherapy, algotherapy, and aromatherapy, are not covered by insurance companies.

13 - What do « Certified quality », « Certified Member Spa » and « Certified Relais Santé Spa » mean? |
| |
 |
|
Each Spas Relais Santé spa has gone through an accreditation process in order to become a member of the Association. This includes spot inspections carried out by an accredited Spas Relais Santé inspector. “Certified Member Spa” establishments meet high-quality criteria in order to comply with industry standards. They must also conform to strict standards of practice stated in the Association’s restrictive Code of Ethics. This Code of Ethics governs several services offered within the establishment : Therapist training, hygiene, rights and duties regarding clientele, health precautions, mandatory health screenings, etc.
By restricting numerous establishments the entry into the Spas Relais Santé Association, we can guarantee and preserve excellence in every member spa.
